Octopus App

The following Android mobile device models have been tested with the Octopus App and Octopus Mobile SIM service.

You are reminded to ensure your mobile device has been upgraded to the latest version of firmware as advised by the mobile device manufacturer before using the Octopus App and Octopus Mobile SIM service. Instructions of firmware upgrade, NFC function and location of the NFC antenna area can be obtained from the respective mobile device manufacturer's website.

When using the Octopus App, if your Octopus cannot be read properly, please try placing it at a varied distance from your mobile device. If there is no response when using the Octopus Mobile SIM for transaction, please present your mobile device over the Octopus reader again at a varied distance.

The mobile device models listed on this site have been tested by OCL for compatibility with:
(1) Using Octopus cards/products ("Octopus") via the Octopus App;
(2) Using Octopus Mobile SIM with the Octopus App; and
(3) Using Octopus Mobile SIM on Octopus readers.

Actual performance of the Octopus App and Octopus Mobile SIM may vary depending on individual device. The performance of the Octopus Mobile SIM may also be affected by the distance between the mobile device and the Octopus reader.

Other factors like software version, firmware version, NFC (Near Field Communication) detection area, operating system setting of the mobile device, operating environment, network connection as well as the distance between Octopus and the device may affect the performance and operation of the Octopus App in reading and writing your Octopus or the Octopus Mobile SIM.

If a mobile device model is not listed on this site, you are advised not to install the Octopus App, use your Octopus via the Octopus App or install the Octopus Mobile SIM on such device.
