Octopus Extends Seamless Cross-Border Payment to Southeast Asia
Octopus Wallet Users Can Pay across the Kingdom Starting December 4

(Hong Kong, 1 December, 2023) Octopus Cards Limited (Octopus), the leading electronic payment tool with the highest customer penetration rate in Hong Kong, is making cross-border payment seamless for Octopus Wallet Plus and Pro users in Thailand by launching in the new "FPS x PromptPay QR Payment" service. The service, to be launched on 4 December, 2023, was spearheaded by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Bank of Thailand. It allows Octopus users to pay hassle-free across millions of acceptance points Thailand by scanning PromptPay QR codes.

Zero Fees for the First Three Months for Upcoming Festive Seasons

Octopus is offering more reasons for Octopus Wallet Plus and Pro users* to use the new cross-border payment service by waiving all transaction fees for the first three months of use. It allows users to experience secure, convenient payments anytime they ride, eat or shop in Thailand during the Christmas and New Year festive season without worrying about transaction fees.
