No specific set-up required. Simply update Octopus App for Business to the latest version to activate the feature.
By updating Octopus App for Business to the latest version, you can accept payments through Octopus, Octopus Wallet, UnionPay QR, WeChat Pay, WeChat Pay HK, PayMe, AlipayHK and Alipay with the Octopus Mobile POS.
Simply update Octopus App for Business to the latest version to experience the upgraded feature. Drivers can pair the Octopus Mobile POS via Bluetooth and accept payments through Octopus, Octopus Wallet, UnionPay QR, WeChat Pay, WeChat Pay HK, PayMe, AlipayHK and Alipay instantly.
Taxi drivers using the Octopus Mobile POS are exempt from rental fees, transaction fees, and bank account fund transfer fees until 31 December 2025. Also, they can top up their Octopus with collected payments in the Business Account, bypassing bank accounts and enjoying lifelong free transfers!
Simply enter the amount as usual in the Octopus App for Business, and the POS screen will display a QR code that supports Octopus Wallet, UnionPay QR, WeChat Pay, WeChat Pay HK, PayMe, AlipayHK and Alipay. With a scan of the QR code, passengers can pay with their preferred payment methods.
When passengers tap their cards or use the Octopus Wallet to pay the fare, taxi drivers should pay attention to the Octopus Mobile POS or the phone with the Octopus App for Business installed. There will be a “dood” sound and the display will show a “Transaction Completed” screen. You can also verify the transaction by checking the detailed transaction records in the Octopus App for Business.
Drivers can request refunds within 48 hours after completing the transaction through Octopus App for Business (excluding transactions made with Octopus).
Transactions will be settled in HKD when collecting payments with the Octopus Mobile POS.
There are no exchange rate differences as all transactions conducted through Octopus App for Business will be settled in HKD.
Octopus App for Business automatically defaults to transactions in HKD. Drivers do not need to select the currency unit when entering the amount.
If no logos of other payment methods are shown on the Octopus App for Business payment interface, it means that the settings have not been updated. You need to log in to the shop owner mode again to update the settings.
