OKHaving other Mobile Octopus (e.g. Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay/Huawei Pay Octopus)
No. You cannot use Octopus on Android if you have Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay on your device. In order to use Octopus on Android, please follow the steps below to back up your Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay, add Octopus on Android, and use it:
- Go to Samsung Wallet and back up your Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay to your Samsung account;
- Go back to Octopus App and add Octopus on Android;
- Set your default NFC payment method to “Google Pay” or “Android Operating System” (if applicable);
- Octopus on Android will become your primary Mobile Octopus.
No. You cannot use Octopus on Android if you have Huawei Pay Octopus on your device. In order to use Octopus on Android, please follow the steps below to back up your Huawei Pay Octopus, add Octopus on Android, and use it:
- Go to Huawei Pay Wallet and back up your Huawei Pay Octopus to your Huawei account;
- Go back to Octopus App and add Octopus on Android;
- Set your default NFC payment method to “Google Pay” or “Android Operating System” (if applicable);
- Octopus on Android will become your primary Mobile Octopus.
Note: The new Harmony OS does not support either Huawei Pay Octopus or Octopus on Android at this moment.
No. You cannot use other Mobile Octopus if you have Octopus on Android on your device. If you are currently using Octopus on Android, you can follow the following steps to add and use Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay or Huawei Pay Octopus:
- Go to Octopus App and back up your Octopus on Android to the cloud;
- Go to Samsung Wallet or Huawei Wallet and add/restore Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay or Huawei Pay Octopus as usual;
- Set your default NFC payment method to “Samsung Pay” or “Huawei Wallet”;
- Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay or Huawei Pay Octopus will become your primary Mobile Octopus.
Note: The new Harmony OS does not support either Huawei Pay Octopus or Octopus on Android at this moment.
No. Octopus on Android is only available to devices with an NFC chip and Android 12 or above, and which are sold by authorised retailers in Hong Kong.
