Citi Octopus Card on iPhone or Apple Watch* is an Octopus in Apple Wallet that uses Near Field Communication (NFC) to make contactless payments with Octopus readers. Just tap your iPhone or Apple Watch at over 100,000 Octopus readers, across transit, shopping and dining locations, and access. Citi Octopus Card on iPhone or Apple Watch is not a credit card but is a stored value card. It is an additional Octopus stored value card (in virtual form) and is separate from, and does not share the value stored in the Physical Citi Octopus Credit Card.

You can easily add or manage a new Citi Octopus Card on iPhone or Apple Watch with built-in and pre-activated Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS) function.

To get a Citi Octopus Card on iPhone or Apple Watch, you need to fulfil the following:

1. Have a valid physical Citi Octopus Credit Card and you are the Principal Cardholder of such Citi Octopus Credit Card;
2. The Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS) of that physical Citi Octopus Credit Card has been activated;
3. The latest version of Octopus App;
4. Have an iPhone 8 / iPhone 8 Plus or later, or Apple Watch Series 3 or later*;
5. Update your mobile device to the latest version of iOS / watchOS;
6. Enable Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode; and
7. Set Hong Kong as your device region.
8. Logged into your iCloud account

Citi Octopus Card on iPhone or Apple Watch is built-in with Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS) and is pre-activated. Your Citi Octopus Card on iPhone or Apple Watch reloads automatically when it reaches a zero or negative balance. The amount is deducted from the linked account of your physical Citi Octopus Credit Card.

You can transfer funds from your Octopus Wallet to Citi Octopus Card on iPhone or Apple Watch, as well as collect public transport fare subsidies, and make online payments at designated online merchants via the Octopus App.

Unlike a physical Citi Octopus Credit Card, Citi Octopus Card on iPhone or Apple Watch does not support credit card function.
