OKTransactions require an OTP (One-time password)
What is One Time Password ("OTP")?
When you make a transaction with your Octopus Mastercard at an online merchant participating in Mastercard SecureCode®, you will receive a One-time password (OTP) through push notification via the Octopus App. Simply enter the OTP to authenticate your transaction. You can also view the One-time password (OTP) in the Octopus Wallet activities feed.
Why can't I receive an OTP?
There are two possible reasons.
- OTP is sent through push notification via the Octopus App. Please ensure you have network connection and enable push notification setting on your mobile device and your Octopus App to receive push notifications. You can also find the OTP in Octopus Wallet activities feed in the Octopus App; or
- The online merchant is not participated in Mastercard SecureCode, only merchants participated in Mastercard SecureCode will require you to input a OTP in order to complete the transaction.
Do all online transactions require an OTP?
No, OTP is only required for online merchants that support Mastercard SecureCode.
How do I know if the merchants are enabled with Mastercard SecureCode?
If the merchant is enabled with Mastercard SecureCode, the Mastercard SecureCode sign will be displayed in the merchant's website.
