Ordering taxis via HKTaxi
How it works
Order a taxi ride via HKTaxi, and select "Octopus"* or "Octopus Wallet" as the payment method.
*Reminder: Ensure you have topped up your Octopus card or Octopus Wallet before paying the taxi fare
The fare will be displayed in HKTaxi, upon completing the journey.
Select payment by Octopus card or Octopus Wallet.
Tap Card: Place your Octopus card on the NFC area of your mobile device (usually it is at the back of the device), until the receipt shows on the screen
OR
By Octopus Wallet: Payment will be directly deducted from Wallet.
Note:
*Making online payment by Octopus card is applicable for:
- Android – NFC enabled mobile devices
- iOS - iPhone 7 or newer with iOS 13 or above, or connected with Octopus Mobile Reader
It is applicable for Octopus card with a 9-digit number only (eight digits plus one single digit inside the brackets).
- To pay by Octopus card, you have to first register the Octopus number on the Octopus App. iOS mobile device users must also equip their mobile phones with an Octopus Mobile Reader.
To pay by Octopus Wallet, you must first register an O! ePay account. - The Octopus App works with Octopus card with a 9-digit number (eight digits plus one single digit inside brackets).
