Scan and pay with UnionPay QR code

Make UnionPay QR code payments globally

You can use the Octopus UnionPay Card at most of the merchants accepting UnionPay QR code payments in Hong Kong and worldwide. UnionPay QR icon or UnionPay APP icon will be displayed at merchants that accept UnionPay QR code payments. Simply present the QR code to the merchant during checkout, or scan the QR code provided by the merchant, and you will be notified for each transaction. You can also make online payments with Octopus UnionPay Card.

Present your QR code to the merchant:

Step 1
Tap the "UnionPay Octopus Card" under "Wallet" main page.

Step 2
You will see your QR code on the screen.

Step 3
Show your QR code to the merchant, then you can see the receipt after your payment is completed.

Scan the QR code provided by the merchant:

Step 1
You can tap "QR code scanner" icon on the Octopus App Main Page.

Step 2
Scan the QR code provided by the merchant.

Step 3
Input and confirm the transaction amount.

Step 4
You'll see the receipt after your payment is completed.

Make payments to online merchants:

Step 1
Under "Wallet" main page, tap the " Octopus UnionPay Card ".

Step 2
Enable your Octopus UnionPay Card, then you can tap the “View card details” to see the card details on the screen. When shopping online, simply follow the instructions and enter your card details to make payment.

Add Octopus UnionPay Card to UnionPay App:

Step 1
Under "Wallet" main page, tap the " Octopus UnionPay Card “.

Step 2
Enable your Octopus UnionPay Card, then you can tap the “View card details” and “Add to UnionPay App”.

Step 3
Read the Consent and Disclaimer and tap “Agree”.

Step 4
Receive an SMS and enter the verification code in UnionPay App.

Step 5
You Octopus UnionPay Card is read to use in UnionPay App.

Top up before you pay, as and when needed.

Payments made by Octopus UnionPay Card will be deducted from your Octopus Wallet directly. You can conveniently top up your Octopus Wallet through the following channels:

By real time bank transfer via Faster Payment System (FPS)

From Octopus card, using the Octopus App on a compatible NFC-enabled mobile device

By cash at all 7-Eleven convenience stores

Manage your account

You can look up your Octopus Wallet activities feed and account summary in the Octopus App at any time, to view your Octopus UnionPay Card transactions.
