This service enables you to put your change into your Octopus* even when you pay in cash, letting you save time by reloading your Octopus as you shop, and keeping loose banknotes and coins out of your pockets.
*The amount added must be the total amount of change received.
Topping up Octopus with change is easy!
Pay in cash. For example, for a transaction of $79.5, you pay $100 in cash.
Simply say, "Please put the change into my Octopus!"
Tap your Octopus on the reader to reload the total amount of change (here, $20.5) and check the remaining value. It’s easy!
