Launch of Octopus O! ePay – The First Octopus Network-based Mobile Payment Service
In April, Octopus Cards Limited (OCL) launched the self-developed Octopus O! ePay, the first Octopus network-based mobile payment service to provide hassle free and secure Person-to-Person (P2P) payments and instant fund transfers with the Octopus cards, setting a new milestone for Octopus’ mobile payment service in Hong Kong to meet customers’ diverse payment needs.
The inaugural ceremony held in April was graced by nearly 200 guests, including guest-of-honour Professor K C Chan, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, the media, Octopus Group’s Board of Directors, senior management from both OCL and its exclusive digital bank partner, Standard Chartered Bank. The event was prominently covered by all streams of media in Hong Kong.
