Announcement from Octopus Cards Limited
(Hong Kong, 28 June 2021) In view of the numerous misinformation spreading in the social media lately in regard to the Government Consumption Voucher Scheme relating to the Octopus Card, Octopus Cards Limited (OCL) hereby makes the following clarifications:
Misinformation 1: Customer would need to upgrade the Octopus Card to a stored value limit of HK$3,000 before collecting consumption vouchers.

There is no need to apply for a new card.
Misinformation 3: Customers using the Elder Octopus to collect consumption vouchers will not be able to enjoy the $2 Government Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme
Fact: Incorrect. Customers using the Elder Octopus to collect consumption vouchers will be able to enjoy the $2 Government Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme as usual.
