What is Octopus Wallet eLaisee?
Octopus Wallet eLaisee allows you to send and/or request red packets (eLaisee) through P2P, QR Code or tapping physical Octopus Card.
Who can use Octopus Wallet eLaisee?
“Tap their Octopus Card”: All Octopus Wallet Account Holders can use it.
“Scan your QR”: Only Holders of Octopus Wallet Plus/Pro (Verified) can use it.
“Send remotely to their octopus wallet”: All Octopus Wallet Account Holders can use it.
*Please note that P2P payment to Wallet Lite users is only available for Wallet Plus and Pro (Verified).
What do I need to do to use Octopus Wallet eLaisee?
You need to download the latest version of Octopus App and log in to your Octopus Wallet account.

How can I send eLaisee to another Octopus Wallet Account Holder through P2P?
Open the Octopus App and tap "eLaisee" in the "Wallet" section.
Tap “Send remotely to their Octopus Wallet”
Choose the relatives or friends from your phone book (please accept Octopus App to access your phone book first)
Input the eLaisee amount and sticker, then tap ‘’Send’’
Tap “Confirm”
You can see the receipt after your eLaisee has been sent.
Why I cannot add sticker when sending P2P eLaisee?
Please check if the eLaisee is sent to the Octopus Wallet of relatives and friends. The stickers cannot be added if the FPS default account of relatives and friends is selected.
Why am I unable to receive P2P eLaisee payments?

How can I give multiple eLaisees through generating a QR Code?
Open the Octopus App and tap "eLaisee" in the "Wallet" section.
Tap “Scan your QR”
Input the eLaisee amount and quantity combination*. You may change the default blessing message. Tap to attach a photo or choose a sticker with your eLaisee. Tap “Give eLaisee” to generate the QR Code.
*Please note the amount of each eLaisee generated under the same QR Code will be randomly assigned according to the amount and quantity of the eLaisees as pre-determined by you. The receiver will not know the eLaisee amount until he/she opens it
A QR Code is displayed. An Octopus Wallet Account Holder can scan the QR Code with his/her Octopus App to get one eLaisee.
The QR Code will be valid for 15 minutes. If you want to extend your QR Code session, click “Extend 15 minutes”.
You can tap “Check the History” to check the remaining eLaisee to be distributed and the total eLaisee amount you have distributed.
When you finish giving eLaisee, press “Cancel eLaisee”.
How can I get eLaisee from another Octopus Wallet Account Holder by scanning QR Code?
You can open scanner by the following methods:
Open Octopus App and tap “Scan” or
Open Octopus App, tap the scanner under “eLaisee” main page.
Your handset camera will be turned on. Scan the QR Code displayed by the eLaisee sender to get the eLaisee.
If you have received an eLaisee, it will be shown on the main page under “Octopus Wallet” section. Tap “Open” to check the eLaisee amount.
Do I need to be an Octopus Wallet friend of the eLaisee sender/receiver in order to receive / send eLaisee through QR Code?
No. If you are the holders of Octopus Wallet Plus/Pro (Verified), you do not need to be an Octopus Wallet friend of the sender/receiver to receive/send eLaisee through QR Code.
How many eLaisees can I send per one QR Code generated?
You can send at most 200 eLaisees per one QR Code.
Can I get more than one eLaisee by scanning the same QR Code again?
No. You can only get one eLaisee per QR Code.
Is there a time limit in giving eLaisee through QR Code?
Yes. There is a time limit of 15 minutes per each QR Code generated. You can extend the session to 15 minutes by pressing “Extend 15 minutes”.
Can I screen capture the QR Code and give eLaisee through the QR Code picture?
No, the QR Code is only valid when you send eLaisee by logging in Octopus Wallet through the Octopus App.
How do I check how many eLaisees remained in the eLaisee QR Code session?
You can check the remaining eLaisee quantity and distributed amount by tapping “Check the history” on the QR Code page.
About Receiving eLaisees
Why has my Octopus Wallet remaining value not increased after I received an eLaisee from an Octopus Wallet Account Holder?
You need to open the eLaisee. Simply click the “Open” button in the eLaisee feed on the “Activities” page under “Octopus Wallet” section. If you do not “Open” your eLaisee(s) within 7 days after receiving, they will be opened automatically, and the eLaisee amount will be added to your Octopus Wallet accordingly.
What should I do if I cannot find the “Open” button to open my eLaisee?
It may be because you are using an older version of the Octopus App. Please download the latest version of Octopus App to open your eLaisees.
Why am I unable to receive eLaisee from my Octopus Wallet Friend(s) or other Octopus Wallet Account Holders?
There are a number of possible causes for this problem:
Your Octopus Wallet remaining value, including any pending fund to be transferred from your bank account, has reached or will exceed the account limit after receipt of eLaisee from your friend(s), please reduce your Octopus Wallet remaining value in order to receive eLaisee(s); or
You have already reached or will exceed the daily or annual Octopus Wallet transaction limit after receiving eLaisee from your Octopus Wallet friend(s); or
You have contacted the Octopus Customer Service Hotline and requested cancellation of your Octopus Wallet account.

How to give eLaisee to my friends or relatives’ Octopus Card via my Octopus Wallet?
Tap “Tap their Octopus cards”, input eLaisee amount and then tap card to your mobile device with physical Octopus Card. Please note that this function is only applicable for NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled Android mobile devices, iPhone 7 or newer with iOS 13 or above, or iOS mobile devices paired up with an Octopus Mobile Reader.
Do I need to register my friends or relatives’ Octopus in my Octopus App?
You do not need to register their Octopus in your Octopus App.
