1. Hong Kong-issued American Express, Mastercard, UnionPay or VISA credit or debit card in Apple Pay via Apple Wallet
2. Octopus Wallet
3. Faster Payment System (FPS) with electronic Direct Debit Authorisation (eDDA) set up in the Octopus App
4. Designated bank app via the Octopus App

As with all Octopus, customers can also apply for Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS) for their Octopus on iPhone or Apple Watch, or top up by cash.

The maximum stored value of an Octopus on iPhone or Apple Watch is HK$3,000, which enables customers to make a wide range of purchases at retail, restaurants and convenience stores.

No. There is no charge for adding value through Octopus App or Apple Wallet, via the Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS), or adding value with cash at designated service providers.

* To apply for AAVS, you must provide the Octopus number, which can be found by: open Apple Wallet > select Octopus > click “…” > check “Card Information”.

You can activate AAVS for your Octopus on iPhone or Apple Watch by opening the Octopus App, tapping “More” -> "Automatic Add Value Service" -> "Activate AAVS" -> “Octopus on iPhone or Apple Watch” and filling in the required information.

Normally, any such payments will be automatically cancelled, though it may take several days to process refunds.
