The stored value limit of Huawei Pay Octopus is HK$3,000. It comes with a deposit of HK$50, and once it is no longer needed, you can easily apply for a refund through the Octopus App for Tourists.

Create a new Octopus
- Open Octopus App for Tourists, then tap "Add Octopus"
- Select "Add New Octopus", then tap "Next"
- Read and agree to the "Important Notes to Customers", then tap "Confirm and Next"
- Select the top up amount for your Octopus
- Follow the steps to add a new Octopus to your Huawei mobile device¹
or transfer physical Octopus card³ to your Huawei mobile device¹
- Open Octopus App for Tourists, then tap "Add Octopus"
- Select "Transfer Octopus Card"
- Read and agree to the "Important Notes to Customers", then tap "Confirm and Next"
- Follow the steps to transfer your physical Octopus to your Huawei mobile device¹

Apply for a refund
Request for a refund from Refund Card section
If you would like to apply for a refund of the deposit and remaining value on your Octopus, please make the request directly in Octopus App for Tourists. The amount will be refunded to the credit or debit card you used to top up your Huawei Pay Octopus.
Here is the steps for applying refund:
- Open Octopus App for Tourists
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "Refund Card"
- Follow the steps to refund the deposit and remaining value on your Octopus to your credit / debit card

Remarks:
- Huawei Pay Octopus is designated as a "Mobile Octopus" and is issued subject to the "Conditions of Issue of Octopus".
- Please use your Huawei Pay Octopus regularly. If it does not have any add value or payment transactions for three years, it will become an Inactive Mobile Octopus and you will have to pay the Inactive Mobile Octopus Administrative Fee.
- A handling fee of HK$11 will be charged for any Octopus cancelled within 90 days from the date of issue.
- Refund may take 6-8 weeks to be credited to the credit or debit card you used to top up the Huawei Pay Octopus.
