OKManage your Huawei Pay Octopus (using non-HK region registered Huawei Account)
The Octopus number is displayed on the Octopus image in the Huawei Pay Octopus enquiry screen in the Octopus App for Tourists, or can be found by opening HUAWEI Wallet > select Octopus > press "Card info" at the bottom of the enquiry page. The card number is shown at the first line and it can be copied for use.
Please take note of the number, in case you are required to provide it to our staff when making enquiries.
A single Octopus cannot be stored in HUAWEI Wallet across multiple devices. To use it on two Huawei devices, you can add separate Octopus to each device. Each device can hold only 1 Octopus.
If you would like to use your Huawei Pay Octopus on another Huawei mobile device, you can transfer it together with the remaining value and other Octopus services. The Octopus number will remain unchanged.
Please follow these steps:
- To use the Octopus App for Tourists, please sign in with your Huawei ID;
- Select Octopus, tap "Spending Records";
The remaining value and transaction history of an Octopus in HUAWEI Wallet can be checked on the Huawei Pay Octopus enquiry page.
To backup and remove the Octopus in HUAWEI Wallet, please follow the steps below:
- Select "Move card" on the Huawei Pay Octopus enquiry page;
- Read the message carefully and press "MOVE";
- In about a minute, the Huawei Pay Octopus will be deleted from the Huawei device and backed up to the Huawei Cloud.
To transfer an Octopus from an old to a new Huawei device, please follow the steps below:
(a) Backup and remove the Huawei Pay Octopus on the old Huawei device:
- Select "Move card" on the Huawei Pay Octopus enquiry page;
- Read the message carefully and press "MOVE";
- In about a minute, the Huawei Pay Octopus will be deleted from the Huawei device and backed up to the cloud.
(b) Restore the Huawei Pay Octopus to the new Huawei device:
- Log in the same Huawei account on the new device;
- Select the Octopus in the HUAWEI Wallet;
- Press "DOWNLOAD" to restore the Octopus from the cloud;
- In about a minute, the Huawei Pay Octopus will be restored to the new Huawei device.
No. As long as you are connected to the internet before signing out from your Huawei account, your existing Octopus will be removed from your device and backed up to your Huawei Cloud account. You may re-add the Octopus to your device by signing in with the same Huawei account and using the HUAWEI Wallet app.
If you sign-in Huawei account with Hong Kong region, then you will not see the Huawei Pay Octopus in the Octopus App for Tourists. Please use the Octopus App if you sign-in with Huawei account registered with Hong Kong region.
